The reason we remember the past and experience time flowing toward the future is that, in the process of reading information from the universe and leaving traces, we are pushing the total entropy in an irreversible direction.
An Illusion Created by Our Ignorance
If we could observe the quantum states of all elementary particles existing in the universe with 100% perfection, there would be no past, no future, and no flow of time. Everything would exist merely as quantum relationships.
However, a macroscopic observer like a human being cannot see that vast amount of microscopic information, such as the positions and spins of all molecules. Humans have no choice but to see the universe very fuzzily. Because of this fuzziness, numerous microscopic states are lumped together into a single macroscopic state, for example, whether the temperature is high or low. Ultimately, the time we feel is a sophisticated illusion created by the limitations and ignorance of macroscopic living beings that fail to see the entire microscopic truth of the universe.
To fully know emptiness is to understand the essential blueprint of the universe, which is the cosmic mechanism. In the universe, independent essences like time or matter are not inherently fixed from the beginning. Everything gains meaning thoroughly only within mutual relationships and entanglement. This is the perfect physical proof of Pratityasamutpada, the law of dependent origination, which states, "Because this exists, that exists; because this vanishes, that vanishes."
In the microscopic truth of the universe, there is neither a flow of time nor an increase in entropy. The universe is just an empty, static state or a quantum state without space and time. The visible world of all creation (Rupa) essentially has no fixed entity and is empty (Sunyata), and that empty quantum state manifests into the concrete form of reality through human macroscopic limitations and observation.
The Observer Creates the World
Before observation, a quantum clock remains superimposed without even the directions of the past and future being determined. The moment an observer intervenes and reads the information, it finally becomes fixed in one direction. The moment one gives rise to a discriminating mind that divides and tries to observe this and that, the arrow of entropy is drawn in the stationary universe, and the flow of time, suffering, birth, old age, sickness, and death begins.
Because all possibilities of the past and future already exist as quantum entanglement within the blueprint called the universe, a transparent consciousness devoid of fuzziness can see them all. This is the principle of Purvenivasanusmriti jnana, the power to see into past lives, and Divyacaksus, the divine eye, which pierce through the three times of past, present, and future spoken of in Buddhism.
Buddha perceived this blueprint 2600 years ago without any experimental tools, solely through deep inner insight. When one pierces through the truth that the world is essentially empty, one can finally escape from the prison of time and the world of attachment created by oneself, reaching Nirvana, the original state of the universe which is stillness.
Ultimately, knowing emptiness goes beyond simply understanding the structure of the universe as knowledge. It can be seen as an absolute awakening, realizing that I am the very subject that makes the time of this universe flow and creates the world.

Humans believe that a flow of time consisting of the past, present, and future exists, and that matter arises and vanishes within that flow. To the eyes of that person with supernatural powers, they would all just be in the same state. Because they see everything perfectly, there is no need to feel that a particular state is more disordered. At this point, the flow of time also vanishes. If we could perfectly see all the information in the universe, the distinction itself between high and low probability states would disappear in the first place, so time would also disappear. It is a world where everything is superimposed.
When I look at the world with a discriminating mind, a fleeting world (Rupa) that constantly scatters and becomes disordered unfolds. However, when I withdraw that mind and look at the essence, the universe is originally quiet without any meaning, and at the same time, it is a whole, empty state (Sunyata) that is perfectly connected.
When one realizes emptiness (Sunyata), no obstacles arise in the mind even while watching the world change into disorder. This is because one knows that it is an illusion and an inverted dream. The simultaneous existence of perfection, disorder, and emptiness; that is the very mechanism of the universe.
