보탑 천진 큰스님 약력
1948년 부산 출생. 9세에 대원사에서 출가.
이후 양산 통도사에서 불교 경전을 수학하고 경운스님으로부터 ‘보탑’ 법호를 받으심.
1968년 기장 장안사 항곡스님 회상에서 수행 시작, 50여 년간 정진.
효봉스님, 성철스님, 법전스님, 서옹스님, 경봉스님 등 당대 고승들을 모시며 수행 정진.추가 안내

Homage to the Three Jewels.
The Chuseok holiday of 2025 is approaching. To honor our ancestors, we will prepare offerings of tea and food and hold a memorial service.
In addition, we will conduct the 3rd Memorial Ceremony for the Late Venerable Ilmyeon, the founding abbot of Seomisa Temple.

Ven. Botap Cheonjin (寶塔 天眞) is currently practicing and cultivating at Seomisa.

Biography of Ven. Botap Cheonjin
Born on April 8, 1948, in Busan, Korea, he entered the monastic path at the age of nine at Daewonsa Temple.
From age 12 to 20, he studied Buddhist scriptures at Tongdosa Monastery in Yangsan, and received the Dharma name Botap (寶塔) along with ordination from Ven. Gyeongun.
In 1968, he trained under Ven. Hanggok at Jangansa Temple in Gijang, engaging in numerous intensive meditation retreats (anseo).
For more than 50 years, he has devoted himself solely to practice, receiving guidance from many great masters of modern Korean Buddhism, including Ven. Hyobong, Ven. Seongcheol, Ven. Beobjeon, Ven. Seo’ung, and Ven. Gyeongbong.
Additional Announcement
On the occasion of the 3rd Memorial Ceremony for Ven. Ilmyeon,
we are also planning to raise funds for the construction of a memorial stupa (budo-tap) in his honor.
